A man who gets a commission in wartime may be a well-conducted person or he may be a rough diamond.

After years of planning, Hand Motors' quest to add a second building behind its existing one to house its repair, parts and service areas moved ahead in February when the case was heard by the District 8 Act 250 commission.

The commission could use the special fund for purposes such as computer upgrades and hiring additional staff and investigators.

Currently, the commission has 12 authorized positions dedicated to it, including an executive director and assistant.
